What we offer is called financial planning, with a simple service and fee menu. We’re a perfect blend between a financial coach, a traditional financial adviser, and an investment platform (where you arrange your own investments). We are pretty sure no one does things the way we do, and we are proud to be different.

Now, when we are faced with comparing one product or service against another, there’s nothing like a good old old table. So we’ve done the hard work for you here, looking at the key things you’re likely to find important.

Is neon right for everyone? It depends what you need. So take a look and decide for yourself.

advice about financial products

We give independent financial advice. We recommend simple and low-cost investments and pensions and can advise you about your current plans as well as setting up new ones.

We can also set up life and health insurance plans, all chosen from the whole marketplace.

An independent financial adviser can set up pensions, investments and insurance.

Many are restricted in what they can do and have a narrow range. They tend to use more expensive types of investment.

Usually, they’re not allowed to give advice about financial products. You have to choose what you want and organise it yourself online.

Those that can, are limited to their own products.

Using your letterbox

As much as possible, we do everything digitally.

If we set up new investments or pensions they can sometimes need original signatures. We keep all that to a minimum.

There can often be paper-based applications, forms and questionnaires, depending on how savvy the financial adviser is.

Or isn’t.

Most platforms have very slick online processes to set up investments.

They keep your postie busy by sending marketing by post if you don’t opt out.

There are lots of different types of financial advisers and investment platforms. They do different things and charges are often complicated. We want to keep things simple. This summary is designed to give you a basic idea of what to expect from each type of company, generally speaking. The star ratings are our own.
